Color: Buffalo Trace is deep amber; Sazerac Rye is bright amber.

Nose: Buffalo Trace: brown sugar, toffee, vanilla and light oak. Sazerac: anise, mint and caramel.

Palate: Buffalo Trace is sweet corn and oak with gentle spice. Sazerac Rye is drier and spicier, with mint and pepper over a soft caramel base.

Finish: Medium and sweet on Buffalo Trace, medium and minty on Sazerac.
