This Kentucky straight bourbon starts from a 78% corn, 13% rye, 9% malted barley mash bill, distilled in Kentucky and aged 12 years before a finishing rest in black currant (cassis) brandy casks. Bottled non-chill filtered with no color added at 52% ABV, it pours deep amber with red glints, opening on black currant jam, ripe dark berries, vanilla, deep oak, peanut brittle, and warm baking spice. The palate turns lush and full-bodied with chocolate-covered black cherries, tart currants, caramel, and roasted peanuts, closing on a long, warming finish of dark berries, burnt sugar, and vanilla bean.
