Teeling Phoenix Legends Series No. 3 Notre Dame 17 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey Moscatel Cask Finish
Teeling Phoenix Legends Series No. 3 is the third release in Teeling Whiskey's partnership with Notre Dame Athletics, a 17 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey finished in Moscatel casks and limited to 1,500 bottles. The box and label carry the Notre Dame monogram and mark the 1988 "Game of the Century". It follows the 24 Year Old Rivesaltes finish (Series No. 1) and the 16 Year Old Marsala finish (Series No. 2). Bottled at 46% ABV in a 700ml presentation box.
Teeling is the Dublin company whose Newmarket distillery brought whiskey-making back to the city. This single malt matures for at least 17 years, then finishes in casks that once held Moscatel, the sweet fortified wine of the Iberian Peninsula. The finish adds a layer of dried fruit and honeyed depth to a mature Irish malt.
The nose opens on ripe apricot, golden raisin and orange blossom honey over malted barley and light oak. The palate is rich and layered: candied orange peel, baked pear and dried fig, balanced by toasted almond and a gentle spice of clove and white pepper. The finish is long and warming, with honey, sultana and soft oak that linger well after the last sip.
With a 17-year age statement, a wine-cask finish and a numbered Notre Dame release, this bottle suits Irish whiskey collectors and Fighting Irish fans alike, and makes a gift for milestone occasions. It sits well next to other Teeling releases and the wider Irish whiskey and single malt selection at Gifted Pour. Ships to most US states. Adult-signature required at delivery.
