Skorpios 1618 Extra Añejo Year of the Snake 2025 Limited Edition is a micro-batch release from NOM 1522, Hacienda de Oro in Amatitán, Los Valles, crafted to mark the Lunar New Year. Single-estate agaves aged 7 to 10 years are cooked in brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, and fermented in the open air before distillation through copper pots with no additives. Only 888 bottles were produced, each hand-poured and housed in a red ceramic snake bottle finished with a gold Chinese-knot charm and tassel.

The spirit rests a minimum of 3.5 years in medium-char American bourbon barrels before a finishing period in Cognac casks, a combination that deepens its color to a deep mahogany and layers dark plum, raisin, and subtle vanilla on the nose. On the palate, dried fruit, caramel, and oak give way to dark chocolate and a touch of spice, with a light fig character carried over from the Cognac cask. The finish is ultra-smooth, with lingering cognac warmth and a medium-long agave close.

With production capped at 888 bottles, this release is intended for collectors and Lunar New Year gifting as much as for drinking.
