Color: Sazerac 6 Year is bright amber; Bodega Cat sits a shade deeper; the 1792 Rye is copper with a red tint from its higher proof.

Nose: Sazerac: anise, mint and light caramel. Bodega Cat: rye grass, dried apricot and toasted oak. 1792 Rye 100 Proof: black pepper, clove, cherry and vanilla.

Palate: Three distinct rye styles. Sazerac is soft and spicy at 90 proof; Bodega Cat is grain-forward with a peppery, drier middle; the 1792 is the biggest of the three, sweet vanilla up front then a wave of rye spice.

Finish: Medium and minty on Sazerac, dry and lingering on Bodega Cat, long and warming on the 1792.
