Buffalo Trace O.F.C. Bourbon 2004 Vintage
O.F.C. takes its name from the Old Fashioned Copper distillery — the original name of the site that became Buffalo Trace — and the O.F.C. Vintage series is the distillery's tribute to that heritage: bourbon from a single marked distillation year, released only when it is judged ready. This release was laid down in 2004 and bottled after a long maturation in Buffalo Trace's historic warehouses, presented in a hand-cut crystal decanter with inlaid copper lettering and housed in a wooden display box with a provenance card recording its details.
In the glass it shows deep mahogany, with a nose of dark caramel, seasoned oak, dried cherry, and pipe tobacco. The palate follows with toffee, dark chocolate, vanilla bean, and baking spice over a firm oak backbone, easing into a long, gently drying finish of leather, cocoa, and antique wood.
Vintage-dated O.F.C. decanters sit at the very top of Buffalo Trace's output and rarely surface twice, making this a landmark gift or a centerpiece for a serious bourbon shelf. Pair it with other Buffalo Trace allocations at Gifted Pour — E.H. Taylor, Eagle Rare, and Weller among them. Ships to most US states. Adult-signature required at delivery.
