Yamato Single Malt Japanese Whisky is a 100% malt whisky matured exclusively in brand-new oak barrels, imported to the US by Aiko Importers. The label carries the name in both English and Japanese script (山都), distinguishing this single malt release from the separately produced Yamato (大和) blended expression also on the US market.
The whisky pours a bright amber and opens with honey, malt, and vanilla, layered with light floral notes from time in oak. On the palate it shows soft malt sweetness alongside orchard fruit and toasted oak, finishing medium in length with gentle oak spice.
