Xicaru Silver Mezcal
Xicaru Silver Mezcal embodies the essence of traditional Oaxacan craftsmanship, reflecting the heritage and dedication of its creator, Fernando Santibañez. Named after the Zapotec word for "beautiful," Xicaru is produced in small batches at a palenque in Matatlán, Oaxaca, using methods passed down through generations. This mezcal is made from 100% Maguey espadin, harvested at approximately eight years of maturity, and crafted with a deep respect for tradition. The production process involves cooking the maguey in underground conical stone ovens fueled by mesquite and ocote, giving it a distinctive smoky flavor. Each bottle of Xicaru is adorned with a unique jaguar symbolizing strength and agility, showcasing the connection to ancient Zapotec culture.
