Trump Winery's Presidential Reserve Inaugural Edition: a traditional-method sparkling wine from Virginia's Monticello AVA.

The Presidential Reserve: Inaugural Edition is 100% estate-grown Chardonnay from the foothills of Carter's Mountain in Virginia's Monticello AVA, drawn from the winery's Trinity (65%), Chapel (28%) and Lodge (7%) vineyard blocks at about 650 feet. The grapes were hand-harvested at night, and only the coeur de cuvée, the heart of the press, was kept. The base wine fermented 95% in stainless steel and 5% in neutral French oak, then aged six years on its lees in bottle, the longest of any Trump sparkling wine, before a low dosage at disgorging. Just 4,547 cases were made. The Beverage Testing Institute (92 points) calls it "a rich, vibrant and mouth filling Blanc de Blanc bubbly," noting honeyed citrus, lemon pastry, spiced green apple and toast. It recommends enjoying it now or over the next six years. 12.5% ABV, 750ml.
