Ode To The Dark is a bold and sumptuous tribute to the profound richness that defines The GlenDronach’s sherry-matured style. Fully matured in exceptional Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and bottled at a commanding 50.8% ABV, this special release elevates indulgence to its most decadent form.

Crafted under the direction of Master Blender Rachel Barrie, this expression embraces the darkest, most luxurious character of PX maturation. The result is an opulent Highland single malt layered with velvety sweetness, dark fruit intensity, and polished spice—rich, immersive, and unapologetically deep.

Appearance
Deep black garnet with ruby flashes at the rim.

Nose
A dramatic symphony of mocha, black cherry, and dark chocolate rises first, followed by caramelized crème brûlée. Notes of raisin, muscovado sugar, and warming ginger develop with time, alongside hints of fig syrup and toasted oak.

Palate
Luxuriously textured and full-bodied. Velvet layers of smooth espresso and crème caramel unfold into ripe black grape and mint chocolate ganache. Dark berry compote and subtle spice glide across the palate, balanced by the natural sweetness of Pedro Ximénez influence.

Finish
Long, warming, and indulgent, with lingering dark cocoa, sweet spice, and syrup-soaked dried fruits.
