Sangre Verde Tobala Mezcal
Sangre Verde Tobalá Mezcal is a Mezcal Artesanal produced in San Baltazar Guelavila, Oaxaca, made entirely from wild Maguey Tobalá (Agave potatorum), plants left to mature roughly seven years in the wild before harvest. Known among agave growers as the "king of agaves," Tobalá is prized for its slow growth and limited yield, and this Joven expression is bottled under Denominación de Origen Protegida to reflect its regional, small-batch origins.
Production follows traditional Oaxacan methods: the agave hearts are roasted in an earthen stone oven, fermented naturally, and distilled twice in small batches through a copper alembic still. The result is a pale gold, translucent spirit with a nose of floral and earthy minerals, fresh herbs, citrus zest, and a whisper of smoke. On the palate it opens with wildflower sweetness and mild pepper alongside citrus zest and tropical fruit, carried on a velvety texture, finishing long with lingering herbal notes, gentle smoke, and mineral depth.
A distinctive bottle for mezcal collectors and anyone building out a home agave-spirits shelf, Sangre Verde Tobalá pairs well alongside other Gifted Pour mezcal and tequila selections for a side-by-side agave tasting. Ships to most US states. Adult-signature required at delivery.
