Rum Chata
RumChata is a Caribbean rum-based cream liqueur inspired by the traditional Latin American drink horchata, which blends rice, cinnamon, and sugar. Produced in Wisconsin and bottled at 13.75% ABV, it marries real dairy cream with a five-times-distilled Caribbean rum base, then layers in cinnamon, vanilla, and spice. The result is a silky, dessert-forward cream liqueur that has become a cocktail shelf staple since its 2009 launch.
On the palate expect whipped cream, cinnamon toast, and vanilla with a light rum warmth on the finish. RumChata shines chilled or over ice, poured into cold brew coffee, added to hot chocolate, or shaken into dessert cocktails like the RumChata White Russian, Cinnamon Toast Crunch shot, and pumpkin-spice martini. It also substitutes neatly for Irish cream in most cream-liqueur recipes and pairs beautifully with French toast, churros, or apple pie.
RumChata is made by Agave Loco Brands and was one of the first modern cream liqueurs to break out of the Irish-cream mold with a horchata-style flavor profile. Store the bottle upright, refrigerate after opening, and consume within the recommended window printed on the back label for best creaminess.
