Color: The 10 is deep amber; the 12 is copper.

Nose: 10 Year: caramel, vanilla, cherry and oak with real heat. 12 Year: brown sugar, dried fruit, leather and softer oak.

Palate: Both are wheated bourbons from Buffalo Trace. The 10 at 107 proof is bold and sweet with a spicy edge; the 12 Year Lot B at 90.4 proof is gentler and more refined, all caramel and dried fruit.

Finish: Long and warm on the 10, long and smooth on the 12.
