Huntress Malted Teacake is the fifth release in Nc'nean's experimental Huntress series, the limited spring edition from the organic distillery on the remote Morvern peninsula in Scotland's West Highlands.

This one is a fermentation experiment. Nc'nean fermented it with a yeast strain normally used to brew Belgian-style ales, one that is rarely seen in Scotch whisky, and it gives the spirit a malty, creamy character. It was then matured in the distillery's house-style casks: 50% shaved, toasted and re-charred STR red wine casks, 48% ex-bourbon barrels and 2% Oloroso sherry casks, filled between 2017 and 2022 and bottled in January 2026. Expect buttered toast, freshly baked cake and fig marmalade, with dried fruit, crème caramel and a touch of minerality. Double Gold at the 2026 New York International Spirits Competition, and VinePair rated it 92 points.

Just 4,391 bottles were produced. Bottled at 48.5% ABV (97 proof), unpeated, non-chill filtered and at natural colour, in a 700 mL bottle presented in the Huntress tube. Certified organic and vegan friendly. Sip it neat alongside a slice of malt loaf, a robust cheddar such as Isle of Mull, or a Belgian Dubbel.
