Nc'nean Aon 20-674 is a single cask of the distillery's organic Highland single malt, matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and then finished in one ex-Amarone wine cask. Aon means "one" in Gaelic, and each Aon release is a single hand-picked cask from Nc'nean Distillery on the remote Morvern peninsula in the West Highlands of Scotland. This is the first Amarone single cask Nc'nean has released in the US, bottled for its American importer, ImpEx Beverages.

Cask 20-674 was filled in May 2020 with spirit made from 100% organic, unpeated Scottish barley, fermented for 65 to 115 hours with Anchor and Fermentis yeasts and twice distilled in copper pot stills. After almost four years in first-fill ex-bourbon wood it was moved into a cask that had held Amarone, the rich dried-grape red wine of Valpolicella, in March 2024, and it was bottled in May 2025 at five years old. The Amarone cask adds milk chocolate, roasted nuts and red fruit to the distillery's bright, fruity house style. Whisky Advocate scored it 92 points in its Winter 2025 issue: "If you love sour fruit, this is for you."

Bottled at natural cask strength, 57.1% ABV (114.2 proof), non-chill filtered, at natural colour and certified organic. Only 491 bottles were filled, each 700 mL, presented in the Aon single cask gift tube. Try it neat first, then add a few drops of water to bring out the chocolate and spice.
