El Tesoro Mundial Collection: 2025 Yamazaki Edition Añejo is a limited-edition collaboration between El Tesoro of Jalisco, Mexico, and Yamazaki Distillery of Japan — a cross-cultural bottling unlike anything else on the tequila shelf. Distillers Carlos Camarena and Shinji Fukuyo finished El Tesoro Añejo for 12 months in authentic Yamazaki 12-Year-Old Japanese sherry and wine casks, bridging two of the world's most revered spirit traditions.

The nose opens with cooked agave, red berries, warm spice, and a delicate dusting of Japanese oak. The palate is bold yet refined — sweet agave, dark berry fruit, toasted spice, light sherry richness, and a clean, layered finish shaped by the Yamazaki cask influence. Serve neat in a tulip glass or copita at room temperature to let both halves of the blend speak. This is strictly a sipping tequila, built for a slow pour rather than mixing.

El Tesoro has been distilled at La Alteña in the Jalisco highlands since 1937, using traditional tahona and stone-oven methods. The Mundial Collection is an annual limited series pairing El Tesoro with other world-class spirits producers; the 2025 Yamazaki Edition is one of the most ambitious collaborations in the lineup to date.
