El Ateo Añejo Tequila
El Ateo Añejo Tequila is produced at Plantaciones Tequilana (NOM 1635) in the highland region of Los Altos, Jalisco, from 100% Tequilana Weber blue agave grown in Guanajuato. The agave is slow-roasted in traditional stone and brick ovens, tahona-crushed to extract the juice, and twice distilled in stainless steel pot stills fitted with copper coils — a production process that preserves the earthy agave character while building structural complexity. The Añejo expression then rests in used American white oak bourbon barrels, developing its characteristic depth and amber color.
Deep amber in the glass with notes of cooked agave, vanilla, oak, and butterscotch on the nose. The palate delivers caramelized agave alongside cinnamon, black pepper, and a subtle brine, with barrel influence running through each sip. The finish is warm and extended, trailing off with wood spice and sweet agave.
El Ateo Añejo reflects the terroir-driven tradition of Los Altos tequila production and makes a distinctive addition to any agave spirits collection or a considered gift for a tequila enthusiast. Pair it alongside other highland-style and artisanal tequilas available at Gifted Pour. Ships to most US states. Adult-signature required at delivery.
