Duckhorn's most celebrated single-vineyard Merlot, from the estate Three Palms Vineyard in Calistoga. The 2023 is expressive and polished, with Bing cherry, huckleberry and rose petal over silken tannins.
Three Palms Vineyard sits on the rocky alluvial fan of the Napa Valley floor near Calistoga, and its Merlot is one of Duckhorn's signature wines. The 2023 is 89% Merlot with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, all estate fruit, aged 18 months in French oak (75% new) and released in the 50th Anniversary label. Bing cherry, huckleberry cobbler, crushed rose and raspberry jam open with bay leaf and graham cracker, and full-bodied cherry and molasses flavors ride energetic acidity and the vineyard's hallmark minerality.
