Dom Pérignon Rosé 2002 blends Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with still red Pinot Noir making up about 23% of the wine, and it aged roughly ten years on its lees before its 2013 release. After a mostly grey August, September 2002 brought what chef de cave Richard Geoffroy called "an almost Californian warmth," conditions he described as unexpectedly perfect, and Wine Spectator credits the vintage with complexity and richness backed by firm, lively structure. Geoffroy calls this wine the "dark jewel" of Dom Pérignon. The Wine Advocate (98 points) says it "explodes from the glass with endless layers of huge, voluptuous fruit," balanced by cool, insistent minerality on a crystalline, vivid finish. The Wine Advocate put its anticipated maturity at 2015 through 2032, so it is now in that window. 12.5% ABV, 750ml.
