Club Kokomo Barrel Finished Rum is a premium aged rum available at Gifted Pour, your destination for world-class spirits with convenient home delivery. It comes from the San Diego spirits label founded by Beach Boys co-founder Mike Love, and it is the most serious bottle in the Club Kokomo range.
This is a proprietary blend of 8 and 10 year old Jamaican, Barbadian and Dominican rums, matured in a combination of new oak, ex-whiskey and port casks, then finished in bourbon barrels. The result carries real age and cask influence rather than sweetness, with a minimum of eight years behind every drop.
The nose is woodsy and inviting, with soft vanilla underneath. The palate leads with oak and caramel, layered over the tropical backbone of the underlying Caribbean rums. The finish is smooth and lingering, closing with hints of bourbon and stone fruit.
Drink it neat or over a single large cube, where the bourbon-barrel finish shows best. It also makes an excellent rum old fashioned. Bottled at 46% ABV, 92 proof.
