Color: Clase Azul Reposado is pale gold; Don Julio 1942 is deeper amber.

Nose: Clase Azul: cooked agave, vanilla, caramel and a hint of orange. 1942: warm caramel, vanilla bean and tropical fruit.

Palate: Clase Azul Reposado spends eight months in American oak and comes out creamy, sweet and soft. Don Julio 1942 rests at least two and a half years and is silkier still, all caramel and cooked agave with a whisper of oak.

Finish: Long and sweet on both; the 1942 lingers a touch longer.
